Cool-blue Rhythm New Ride! Bobcat Trail

My first bike with more than one gear. Long time BMX cruiser rider making the switch. Wasn't many pictures of a 15" when I was looking so I thought I would post these up. New Ride! Bobcat Trail-mini-imgp4977.jpgNew Ride! Bobcat Trail-mini-imgp4980.jpg

No, I robbed them off my Formula 24". Been riding the Shimano DX style pedals since 1983.

I don't have any issues with my brakes. they work so well I crashed the other because I locked them and the bike slid and I ended up crashing into a wooden rail. This bike is lightning fast.

My fronts screech when I use them. I've wiped the disc off hoping to free up any film or residue but it still does it..

Maybe try loosen the bolts, then while squeezing the lever tighten them.

do they screech all the time or just when pressed? Like bcriverjunky said try loosening the caliper and re adjusting. I saw my bike tech insert a small piece of cardboard (cereal box) cut in a 1"x3" rectangles and insert them between the caliper and the disk and then he would adjust them. I also bedded them to ensure there was no squeaking. Look up in you tube how to bed your hydraulic brakes. I did it according to the videos and they are on point. Where did you buy your bike from and how long ago? They should've given you a year worth of free adjustments. Take it back and let them fix it.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I purchased the bike from cross lake sales. Had my lbs finish assembly for warranty purposes. I took my front wheel off a couple weeks ago and when the disk was out of the caliper I accidentally grabbed the brake lever, to my knowledge I didn't have any problems prior to that day. And my rear brake I noticed today that when I grab the lever it just keeps going. Doesn't skid or anything. Needs adjustment?!

The pressing of the brake lever without the tire could be your culprit. You may need to loosen up the calipers, adjust the brakes and then re-tighten them. There are a few good youtube videos that explain how to do it. pretty easy to do. or you can take it to your LBS and have them do it for you. maybe they won't even charge you depending on how much work they have to do.

The 15" frame looks like a completely different bike than the 17"

How do you fit that bottle in there? That looks like a tight space. Is it a side bottle cage? That seat is low as well. I know some other manufacturers curve their top tube on their 15" frames.

The bottle just barely fits in there. It's a regular Bontrager Carbon cage that is pretty flexible. The seat is very low, it had worked it's way down on the ride. Them cheap carbon clamps are not very good. Off it came when I got home.

Cool. My seat was doing the same thing. After the ride when I got home I tightened the allen screw and now it doesn't move and everything is well. I'm looking at a water bottle cage but was thinking of going with matte white.
