    29'ering a 2002 Marin Wolf Ridge !

    Marin Wolf Ridge....29er in disguise!

So I`m decommisioning my 26ers at the moment.......

And I looked at my 2002 marin frame and thought.......

So I tried a 29er wheel in the rear dropouts and there was some room......

Then I put a tyre in and pumped it up, and there was STILL room.......

So I let all the air out of the shock and fully compressed the rear suspension........

AND in the 4" travel mode ther WAS room between the tyre and the seat tube !!!!

So then I scrabbled around the garage for `bits`.........

And I found enough to make THIS!

That derailleur is tight. I looked at my 09 mt vision and thought it might be able to squeeze a 29er in there. The derailleur looked like the decider. But i ride 1 x 9 on most of my bikes so going 1 x 9 on another would be no big deal.

Be pretty twitchy to wouldn't it with the 26 in the front. Early Marins were pretty steep in the head tube already. 29 both ends would slow it down nicely.

Cool, I recently rode a 29'er and was pretty sure I was headed there, but I jumped on a 2010 MV today knowing it can go 650b. Maybe even 29/650b eventually.

Hmmm, is it correct that the '10 MV has more room than an '09?

I think it was a mock up. I did the same with my 09 MV.
