I think they finally came to the realisation that soft tails were a lot of effort in design and construction for minimal return. The Unicoi has been replaced by the Sewanee which has 60mm of fully active suspension as compared to an inch of "flex". Saying this however, I believe that Litespeed are testing a variation of the Sewanee's design that replaces the pivoting chain stay with a fixed square section stay that allows flex, hence essentially returning to a soft tail design; why, I can only summise that this improves rear wheel tracking and price??????
