    Merlin Road Bike in Kodiak?

Do you use spinskinz, or what? How many miles of road do you have access to?

I bought this sucker back when I raced road in college. After moving full-time to Kodiak, it sat in storage in Colorado for a while, and then in my grandmother's garage in San Francisco for years due to the reason you mentioned: hardly any paved roads on The Rock. They are starting to put some asphalt down on the Chiniak highway, so at this point I have about 50 miles of pavement available outside of town, and they will increase that every year. Eventually, it will be paved all the way to Narrow Cape, and perhaps even in the other direction to Monashka Bay, which will be approximately 110 miles total. Not much, but even if I can put a few miles on such a nice bike it beats having it collect dust in a basement 2,500 miles away. I don't feel like selling it either.

    Stay warm up there.
