    Merlin echo

Has anyone got any idea's?, i've got a soft tail Merlin "echo", the rear shock unit has finally fallen to bits.

I'm after a spare, spoken to American cycles, (importers for merlin), and basically i can't get one from them. apparently there's only 50 of them in the country but i've never ever seen another.

Long shot, does anyone know anybody that might be able to help me out??. I'm a bit reluctant to melt it down for ice screws!!.

By the way, i'm from england.

    Idea! Merlin Echo

    Hi Ed,
I also have a Merlin Echo.
I started off with the original merlin suspension frame which I bought in the UK in 1995.
Managed to break the chain stays on that one and thought that was it.
Got in contact with Merlin in the US and they agreed to repace the frame under the lifetime warranty (to original owner).
That is how I ended up with an Echo. 2001 model.
So the company are not all bad.
So unless things have turned to custard in the last few years, give them a try.
Merlin bikes are still advertised on their web site
My shock seems Ok, I've serviced it a few times and greased it up lots.
    Good luck,

    Merlins great

Merlin is great, I have a extrafat which is very close to a echo only with a headshock, merlin in th U.S. is still a great company. They have helped me with my frame 3 times now and I haven't paid a cent.
