    Disc brake tab

I have a 2000 or 2001 (can't remember) Tellico frame and would like to weld a on it a disc brake tab. The guys at Litespeed quoted me $175.00 for the job plus shipping but won't give a turn-around time. I think that $175.00 is a little bit expensive and don't want to risk waiting indefinitely to get my frame back. Does any one here knows where else can I get this done?

    sounds about right

I paid $125 or $150 to have a tab welded on a steel frame. Ti is harder to work with so that sounds like a reasonable price.

It does. It'll take them a while to align it and such. Welders don't work for peanuts my friend. At least $50 an hour.

Here in Oz I was quoted $300 plus postage to have a disc brake tab welded to my Ti hard tail so it sounds like a bargain even at $175 from Litespeed!

Ok. You made your point regarding the cost. Now, my other real concern is the turnaround time. I live in Puerto Rico so weather is not an issue since we can ride all year long. However, I would not like to watch the summer go by while having welded the tab to the frame. Does somebody know a place where it can be done as swiftly as possible?

US$150 is peanut. Seven quote me US$1500 not including shipping to weld on disc tab to my Seven Denali.

Must include rhodium plating of the entire frame at that price, seriously US$1500 is unjustifiable!!

Maybe you will end up with a completely new frame... Of course that's unjustifiable.
