Changing to longer travel fork on '96 Ocoee??

I'm considering adding a rear disc brake mount and upgrading the fork (from original Judy )

Does anyone have experience and reccomendations regarding what fork I should consider? How will this alter the handling of the bike?

    It's a 17" '96 Ocoee that came with a 80mm Judy.

I ride technical steep NY trails.

    Just upgraded my forks!

I just recently upgraded my 93 Obed from a Judy to a Fox RL120. It was an easy switch and the bike handles even better than before. (It slowed down the steering a bit) We dont have a lot of steep climbs in Texas, but we do have lots of rock ledges and step up's. I have not had any issues navigating these with the new fork and there a whole lot quicker on the decent! I have been really pleased with the Fox forks all the way around, it was the best upgrade for the money that I could have made. I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,
