a sophisticated light beam which we shall call a "la-ser"

I've been seeing a couple of nighttime commuters using this safety/novelty item and I have to admit it is indeed eye catching.

I'm just wondering why this hasn't been discussed yet in the LNR forums.

Note: Title came from an Austin Powers movie

It has been discussed. I don't recall which thread, as it was quite some time ago.

Edit: found Cat had commented in this thread.

Those lights have been around for 2+ years. There hasn't been more discussion or even competition for it. The interest just hasn't been there for this light.

Yeah, somewhere along the line I commented about it. It works but basically it is just a novelty item. My plan is to give it to my sister if she ever gets another bike. Now to someone who might actually consider buying one of these little gems ( *wink*) I would recommend buying the smaller more compact version. That way you could run it with a better more visible rear light. The big one shone in the video above works fine but is butt ugly if you catch my drift. ( and yes that is the one I own )
