    Self Contained Helmet Light

Looking for a self contained helmet light around 300 lumens and a 3 hour or more run time. Any good suggestions?

I have this one now that I use. It's 200 lumens and about a 2 hour run time on high but looking for something just a hair brighter and bit longer run time.

Check out the NiteRider Lumina 350 or 450
They are availavle on Amazzon for 50bucks.(price fluctuates, got mine for 40 last month.)
Medium setting on either is 200lum for 2hr-45min which is what i use mine for on the handelbars paired with a second helmet light.

A bit more $ can get you a Cygolite Expilion 720
    ($80 on Amzn)
Its Medium setting is rated for 370lum @ 3hrs

Compared to your existing light, Both of the above have a more sophisticated lens/reflector design that will perform much better.

(FYI, the lumens marketing spec of some lights should not be taken too seriously. A cheap 600lum light may only put 200 on the sweetspot infront of you where you want it.
A properly designed 400lum light may throw 300 in the same spot. In this case the light with the "lesser" marketing spec is effectivly brighter and lasts longer because it doesn't have to output as much power as the cheap one)

Why not go for a bigger upgrade? I just got a portland design works lars rover 810, pretty sweet for $80. Got it to compliment my niterider Lumina 650 which I've had for quite awhile and been very happy with

Neither of those lights meets the criteria I am looking for:

Minimum of 300 lumens with 3 hour or longer run time.

Both of the Niteriders will be brighter then your existing light due to their more sophisticated reflector design.
And Both of them will run for 45min longer then you existing light.

I started with these knowing that you only spent 30bucks on your last light. The niteriders are 1 step up in price range.

If you dont think that'll cut it then take it a step further to the Cygo or Portland recommendations. There are alot of good lights around $80-120. Serfas is another good brand.

The Lumina 350 is 1:30 hours on high @ 350 lumens and 2:45 hours on medium @200 lumens

The Luminum 450 is 1:30 on high @ 450 lumens and 2:45 hours on medium @ 200 lumens.

I'm looking for ~300 lumens and ~3 hour run time.

It looks like the Lumina 600 may be what I am looking for. 3:30 for 300 lumens.

The cygolite dart pro also comes close at 2:30 for 350 lumens.

    Zebralight H600
    312 lm for 4.3hrs.
85g with battery, so not too heavy for the helmet.

Ituo has nice lights at reasonable prices but right now Performance has 30% off and has the Niterider Lumina 950 boost at 99 less 30% so 69 bucks for a real good light. 1 1/2 hr run time on high, 800L and 3 hrs on 400L.

I ended up with the cateye volt300. It ticked all my boxes. 300 lumens for 3 hours. Picked it up on Amazon for $35.

I have the plain old 750, mostly got it for the extra run time on low. anything more than the 200 lumens (advertised), seems obscene and at 5.5 hours, what more do you need. Hike mode is actually enough to get by in most instances.
