    Question about new Magicshine Battery

I am a Magicshin newbie. I bought MJ-816 1400-lumens unit from a supplier in China. It came with the new battery encased in translucent hard-plastic with the LCD backlight voltage display (similar to the pic you see below). I did test it out for a few minutes inside the house before I started charging it. It was showing 7.5 volts.

I tried to charge the battery for the first time. It appears to not take a charge. The LCD backlight display reads 5.7 volt, but the AC charger is showing a green light. Tt has been charging for an hour, but the LCD backlight display is still reading 5.7 volt.

I have not used the light system on the trial yet. However, I am wondering if I may have inadvertently fied the battery by over-discharging it?

    Any thoughts please?

I tried to charge mine (regular MS battery without the display) when I first got it and the charger was stuck on green. I went out for a 2 hour night ride and then it charged fine.

So trying running it down first, then charging it.
