    multi-emitter 5 6 7 XMLs

Has anyone tried these multi-emitter lights? There is a plenty of them on DX and KD with various set-ups (battery, modes, brands of course - nitefire, skyray, ultrafire, boruit and some short letter brands IP, LW, etc):

    7 XML T6

    7 XML2 U2

    skyray 6 XML T6

    5 XML T6

I use the 3 up XML T-6. The battery is not enough to power it. I have been using an older GEO 6.0 battery to power it and get about 2 hrs on high. The light head has actually worked fine.

There's no way the batteries are going to power any of these lights. And on the 5, 6 or 7's, that battery is gonna last about 15 minutes if it even powers it at all.

You can get a good battery to power it tho for about 50 bucks I think.

I agree with MB. I also have 3 xml light, and needed to upgrade the battery to get a decent run time. I have to think these 5-6-7 led lights are either going to have VERY short run times, or they are going to be under driven so they just aren't as bright. So 7 leds may not be any brighter then a nice 2 led unit.
Only way around it is to use a much larger (heavier) battery.

There's barely a noticeable difference on my light when I switch between 2 leds and 3 leds. So I actually only run it with 2 leds on for maximum run time.

Personally, I doubt I'd ever buy a 6-7 (or higher) led light because of this. It would make more sense to buy two or three separate lights, each with just 2 leds.

A 2 led unit (with some type of XML's) on the helmet with the battery in a hydration pack, and a 2 led unit on the handlebars with battery strapped to the frame is a LOT of light.
