Ive been thinking this same thing my decision is going to be the Olympia when Geoman gets them in, combined with his 6.0 battery should make a killer bar setup.

That my friend is going to be a tough decision. I should have my Gloworm X2 by next week. If you like simple and just want the highest output / widest beam pattern of the two than the Olympia would be your choice. The Gloworm X2 though offers more options and has more interesting features. Since I wanted a bar lamp that could deliver more throw than my Bikeray IV , I wanted a lamp that gave me that option. Since the X2 gives you a choice of "user replaceable" optics, that was the deal maker for me ( that and the wired remote and great price on a light-head only option ).

Like many people who are regulars on the "Lights and Night riding" forum, I feel that if you have too much light in the foreground your distance vision will be compromised. Hopefully the X2 will give me the distance throw I'm looking for and yet not overpower the foreground. Hopefully the X2 will give me the best of both worlds but that still remains to be seen.

All things considered, if you choose between either of these two you are going to get a great light system.

I think you should buy both, do a review and then let us know!

I chosed gloworm, great deal and I can easily adjust the beam pattern with optics. Olympia is more powerfull but I think it will be enought with gloworm on the bar and a mj-808 on the helmet. Will be cool to try it when I get it

I bought two gloworm X2s for NZ$275 (USD 216 at the time) with additional wide and elliptical optics including shipping to Japan! Admittedly there was no battery included, though.

That should seriously outperform the olympia in terms of sheer lumens and be more versatile. Also, two lights is always nice to have if you're in a collision since it doubles your chance of still having a light to get home on. Even if on foot.

I just saw the lighthead only deal on the Olympia for $99 which makes me want to buy one... Even though I have two Gloworm X2 en transit, but currently stuck in Hong Kong due to CNY.

Even though I didn't get in the Gloworm presale (came really, really close to pulling the trigger)... I'm still interested to hear how they work for you!

P.S. a long, long, long time ago - I used to live about 25 miles south of you at Atsugi !
