    Flashlight setups

    Hi all,

Thinking of running this budget setup for my bike. Mainly rides of up to 2 hours in the dark on light technical trails. This is what I culled from visiting the various posts so far. Pls let me know your thoughts on this.

    On bike bar:
    1 x MTE SSC P7 900-Lumen 5-Mode Super LED Flashlight
    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12060
    1 x universal bike mount
    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15342

Was wondering if the 2 mode ones would be better?

    On helmet:
Same light, but with helmet mount. My helmet is a Specialized S-works 2D.

If you guys have other suggestions for the helmet light, which should be more of a spot light from what I understand, pls let me know.

    Thank you.

I would go for 16092. Its the newer version of the one you looked at but has better runtime.

Go for a mce on your head as the led die is smaller than the p7 so gives a slightly tighter spot. The mte m3-2 has served me well on my head for the past 6 months.

Tks to Moggy who commented on the lights. The p7 on bike and M3-2 on helmet combi were awesome in the trails at night. Never had a problem with a lack of light. I went with the 3,000 mAH batteries and they held up for about 90 minutes on high mode and could go on for more.

I've got some questions for the OP but hope that anyone else with info will also chime in.

I'm looking to pick up one of these two lights. Which would you choose? Is the 900 lm light noticeably brighter? How do the color temps. compare? How does runtime compare? What do they weigh with batteries? Oh yeah, I'll probably be running it on my helmet most of the time.
