    Smile DX lights lumen claims.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a trend towards more realistic lumen values on

I was browsing for the first time in six months or so and was pleasantly suprised to see many lights listed at between 600 and 750 per XM-L T6... For example.

    1 x XM-L T6

    LXX-T6 (600 lm) $17.80 - headset only.

    A988 Cree (692lm !!!!) $31.70

    UltraFire Cree Zooming (800lm)

    2 x XM-L T6

Rustu (Never heard of 'em) DB-200 (870lm) $61.50

    FandyFire D99 (1200lm) $33.60 <- Headset only

Of course there are the usual suspects of 2000lm for a double XM-L, but on the whole the numbers seem refreshingly realistic.

They are putting the actual drive current in and scaling the 1000 lm@3A.

Someone else mentioned the same thing some months ago. I suppose it's good that the numbers are more realistic but who really knows how accurate the current numbers really are? If it's an XM-L emitter in a Chinese made lamp and you've been hanging out here a while you already know what to expect ( and what not to expect ) with the outputs.

I'll stick with my position that the only thing you can be sure of with the Chinese lights is, the housing is aluminum and contains one or more LEDs (of unknown bin).
