could helmet lights interfere with helmet mirror ?

i'm looking at this mirror here:

and i can already tell it will be too heavy as i already have a pound of lights ( literally ) on the helmet, but on the other hand there have been a few occasions already where i almost got myself killed because i didn't see a car that was about to pass me.

so i know weight will be a problem - don't see a way around it though - i don't really like other mirror designs.

but could i also have a problem with the lights somehow reflecting in the mirror and into my eyes ? not from the whole mirror, but maybe from like an edge of the mirror ?

if you think about it bikes need mirrors more than cars do, because bikes get passed a lot more than cars. yet a car has 3 mirrors, and to pass a driver's license test you need to look over both shoulders in addition to using those 3 mirrors.

you can't be looking over your shoulder all the time.

No you just keep your head up looking forward and look before you make manoeuvre.

I don't know any one who uses a mirror on a bike. But then roadies wouldn't be caught dead with a mirror and mountain bikers don't need them.

Use it if it makes you feel safe. But maybe a bar mounted mirror would save you some neck stain.

You probably would need a mirror for both sides of the helmet to be symmetric with the lights.

I think you will be blinded for sure and the only solution is to get a rear view camera with a monitor mounted to the bars.

"could helmet lights interfere with helmet mirror ?"

I don't know, because this is a MOUNTAIN BIKING FORUM and we don't use mirrors!

You are aware that there are road/commuter forums, right?
