Converting DC 5v to AC 5v?

    Hi there,

I'm new to this forum, so 'Hi everybody'. I live in Portland, OR and I ride all the year through the West Hills and love it.

Does anybody has any experience converting the power from a backup battery (i.e. 5v DC) to 6v AC for powering a 3w light? I'm just curious if it can be done.

    Thank you,

    Miquel
    Portland, OR

This is the wrong place to ask a question like this. You'd be better served asking this question in an "electronic forum". Someone who designs circuits for a living ( electrical engineer ) would have a better chance at giving you a good answer. I would think it could be done but it certainly wouldn't be very efficient.

Post your question over in the DIY lights forum and provide more info and you'll likely get some good advice. Be prepared to describe your battery (Li-ion, NIMH, NICad, SLA) and the light you are planning to power (LED, Halogen, Manufacturer and model).
