    2013 dinotte xml-3

curious if anyone has gotten their hands on the upgraded model which now puts out 1550 lumens and 156 lux? if so can you post a beam shot ?
just when i thought the Gloworm x1-x2 combo was going to be thee combo for me, at $229 the new xml-3 might need to be on the bars?

I've been hoping someone would throw up some shots, but dinotte doesn't seem to get as much love around here as some of the new brands. I'm not sure if the beam shot, in the light shoot out, is the current one or not.

My xml3 has been flawless for 2+ years. It's taken some significant hits too. I ditched the helmet mount and just strap it to the center bar on my helmet. Superb, even beam pattern, with no hot spot. I hope they didn't change the pattern much. I'm thinking of adding the new xml3 to the bars, and hoping they will update my old one (they've updated peoples' lights in the past).

There's a pic in the light shoot out. How many more do you need?

    2013 dinotte xml-3

I thought the beam shot and the video are of the earlier version with lower lumens

I'm curious, what standard for the lux readout did you use? Is this a bounce test? Anyway, got me thinking so I did a couple lux bounce tests with some lamps at 1M; the tri-clone registered about 150 lux. Not bad actually, easily beat out the Bikeray IV and III

He's quoting the updated note from Francis Cebedo on the light shootout.

By Francis Cebedo March 10, 2013
    Update: March 10, 2013
We received the new Dinotte XML-3 with the upgraded LEDs for 2013. The output has increased from 1054 lumens to 1550. The price has gone down too from $259 to $229. Bravo to one of the best light companies in the business.

I got mine today, I haven't ridden with it yet.

I've emailed DiNotte to ask whether or not it is the new upgraded model.

I'll let you know what I think of it after my first ride
