Interesting stuff Matt. LEDs are becoming popular in aquariums for growing aquatic plants and Cutter sell some for keeping coral alive so it was only a matter of time before they hit the greenhouse market.
My bathroom is all LED strips. Plonk 'em everywhere
I need to put up some much needed light in my garage and thinking of doing an LED project. The space is 16x24 and all it currently has is two wimpy CFL bulbs.
Perhaps I'll start a new thread on "Home DIY LED lighting".
thanks. I didn't think of aquariums when I posted that, but now a whole bunch of websites come to mind One day when I get my own place, I'll start LEDifying everything. More projects for the list!
ha ha ha ha, my only experience of growing the sacred leaf was watching some friends at uni completely denude a scraggly little plant of leaves in their smoking sessions. Not very inspiring, I have to say!
Makes you think about SAD lights for people that get depressed in winter. We know that blue light is essential for happiness (is that why I like blue so much?), so it shouldn't be too hard to find all the wavelengths we need and make a light to suit. In fact, if we combine that with Yetibetty's toilet lights, I can use that as an excuse to sit on the can and read a magazine for longer "see love, I'm getting happy and crapping at the same time!".
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
