    What drivers are available?

I know that is kind of a generic question, but I am looking for some different types of drivers. I built a helmet light a few years ago, and I got all my components from LED Supply. I see they mainly offer Luxdrive stuff, and was wondering where the drivers I'm seeing in other lights come from. I know one of them has the word "flex" in it. I'd like to build a few more lights, but I want to be sure I consider all my options for parts. For those who may remember, this was the little helmet light I built. It has a Cree XPG 3 up with a 1000mA wired buckpuck with a pot.

Flex drivers come from taskled.com. IMHO the best available.

I see. Thank you for the input. Are these the only two main suppliers of drivers?

Loads of Chinese drivers available at Dealextreme and Kaidomain. Quality and features vary widely. Google will get you more depending on search terms used. Someone at budgetlightforum.com is selling a Chinese driver with custom firmware that is bike oriented. Matthemuppet on this forum has posted links and it looks interesting.

There is a searchable database for drivers that may be useful. It's quite straightforward and provides the source for each driver. I haven't used it to order anything. It can be found here:

Aqualab: LED Driver List - LED Drivers and Regulator Boards (database driven)

Hope it's ok to link to this. If not a search for "Aqualab LED driver list" will likely find it.

There's a new player of sorts. Search for MobyDrv, and you'll find a fellow DrJones who has reprogrammed some of the basic drivers to have many of the functions of a TaskLed driver. I have a couple of these just waiting for a build to try out.

    DrJones' Custom Firmware Drivers

mobydrv is born - all your cycling single LED driver needs in one :)
