I was part of a conversation yesterday, where the topin of overlaying realtime weather data on a hand held gps came up. I had not heard of this being done, nor did I know it was possible? This was second hand information, but it was said they thought it came from XM weather?

Anyone out here have any experience with doing this? If so could you guide me to a site and what equipment would it work with?

Ideally looking to use the Vista Hcx ....would it work for this?

Never heard of the capability in a handheld, but there is indeed an XM Wx service. I've only seen it utilized in auto GPSr's, though. As far as I know, the whole dash unit needs to have the XM receiver and GPSr integrated to accomplish this. Not sure if a simple serial connector is enough to pull it off.
