Niterider upgrades are u bin sscs still the way to go
I know there are multiple threads on this. I've read them. I have an older minewt and trinewt I won on ebay (I was just trying to get a minewt battery, the whole thing was $67 shipped). I've upgraded an older minewt before. I was just wondering if there are better options out there than this:
SSC Seoul P4 (U-bin) SW0 Bare Emitter - Free Shipping - DealExtreme
TIA

Depends on what you're using as a driver - the stock Minewt electronics? do you have any clue what amperage it is running at?
the XP-G2 would be a good replacement - the R5 bin driven @ 1A it maxes out at ~338lm, where the P4 is 250. If you were upgrading driver, then it can be driven up to 1.5A.

I was planning on not modifying the board
My understanding is that it is driven at 1A. I am looking for a solder-in replacement for the luxeon.

ahh - I see that the LED emitter is soldered directly to the driver board. I typically don't look for any Crees that attach that way.
then the P4 might be the best for you.
