Niterider Headtrip Battery replacement ideas needed

I have a Niterider Headtrip, I have had it for awhile, it has a Nimh battery and a 10w bulb, it has a charger but its not a smart charger and it takes about 9 hours to charge and must be unplugged after that. Its not the digital version.

I would like a new battery and smart charger so that I don't need to remember to disconnect it. I am hoping for a stronger battery that lasts longer too. I am a bit of a rook when it comes to lights and batteries so I am looking for advice.

    Thanks for the help.

If you want to overdrive it, you'll need 6 NiMH cells. If you want stock voltage 5. About 1.5 amps stock, a 3000mAH battery would give 2 hours. You can get "c" sized NiMH cells rated at 4500mAH, this would give 3 hours. Try BatterySpace. good luck
