    Newbie Niterider battery question

I read in the manual (Headtrip) that your not supposed to completly drain battery or it can damage them.
Being a newbie to the light, I did not realize the light was about to cut off.
    Does it always harm battery?

Also do you get used to when to stop before it completely drains?

    Thanks.

What kind of battery is it? My guess is running it dry (regardless of type) probably hasn't done much damage, maybe shortened its run time by a few percent. As I understand it, most newer style batteries Li-Ion & NiMh are pretty forgiving as long as you don't let them go all the way down and keep them there. If it's one of these types then top it off as soon as you're done riding. As long as you have a smart charger don't worry about overcharge. I've accidentally drained NiMh battery packs all the way without noticeable effect on their longevity.
    To the troll mobile, away...

Thanks for the feedback! It has the NiMh battery.
Come to think of it. The light went out suddenly and did not go dim before hand.
Doesn't come on at all now. I'm gonna return it for another one.
