    New Lighthead needs a 39x1mm O-ring seal!!

I designed a new Lighthead around my existing platform to convert it from 6xXRE to the 7up XPG/E light engine!

Therefore i need a O-ring seal with 39mm diameter and 1mm cross diameter
Bad thing, i can't find anywhere such an O-ring

Any ideas or can someone supply me such an o-ring?

    Thanks

can you go to 1.5mm , http://www.polymax.co.uk sell them........

alternatively you could perhaps make one from 1mm cord?

yes 1,5mm would be easy, but then the o-ring would be forced into the beam, because i cannot increase the housings inner diameter....

Maybe get 2 smaller ones and splice them into the size you need. Superglue bonds the black rubber o-ring material quite well. Handling the 1mm size while gluing might be a bit tough. I would try making a guide to hold the ends while gluing out of a piece of polyethylene (superglue doesn't stick to that).

I'm not sure 0.5mm interference with the beam is going to be that noticeable

    I could be wrong though.....

    you are right but....

-The Optik and LED engine has 39mm outher diameter!
-The housing has 40.4mm inner diameter which can't be raised!

    - so with a 1mm O-ring i get 38,4mm inner diameter of the beam
    - with an 1,5mm O-ring i get 37,4mm inner diameter of the beam - it is not getting better

Go to an auto parts shop and buy a "liquid gasket" or a "gasket maker"

If you haven't purchased already... maybe a custom-cut o-ring from silicone sheet? Ebay has 'em, as simple sheets and as "silicone baking sheets". I just got one that's fractionally over 1mm, smooth both sides, and go-fast red colour.

    I'm afraid it's too late!
I have now 38 o-rings in 39x1mm (was the minimum order quantity)

Whitedog. I have a great solution to the min order issue.
Just make and sell some of those housings to use up the extra orings that you had to buy......= )
It's a good design and I'm sure you could sell a few.
