    magicshine 808 driver substitute?

A buddy offered me a frame in exchange for working on his MS 808 that quit working. I can't pass that deal up.

Opened the light up, and found a lot of rust/corrosion on the switch assembly on the driver.

This is the older P7 model. (1st gen)

I'm going to try replacing the switch first - the light will blink on for a instant about every 3rd time you plug it in, so the P7 is working.

If the switch replacement doesn't go well, I'll throw a new driver at it.

I know that DX had sku 162787 that would have been a good replacement, although 2A on high is a bit down on power over stock.

More important, it is out of stock, who knows if it will ever be back.

    Anyone got any other suggestions?

I worked on a couple of the early MS lights and found broken connections on the inductor caused by not having the inductor glued to the PCB and relying on the leads for support.
