    Hey Metal-heads

My brother in law has a company in Utah that makes parts for steel foundaries (switches, brakes, etc)...I never knew *exactly* what he did but on my last trip out west I visited his shop.

I was like a kid in a candy store and was pretty blown away at the tools he had. 8 CNC mills, 4 CNC Lathes, a bunch of manual mills & lathes, large presses/vices, every tool you can imagine, a huge supply of alu, steel, copper and brass rod and bar stock...pretty much nirvana for a light builder! He said he didn't know I was that much into metal working...haha!

The problem is that he lives 2000 miles away and if I was closer I could have free reign on all this stuff. One of his guys cut my 7up light. Here are some pics of his shop, you may want a bib for the drool!

    Wow!! What a work shop!

We have a spanner like that at work to tighten the Jesus Nut on the helicopters. As you may guess, its the nut that holds on the main rotor head.

you laugh, but a decade ago I could have bought a mill identical to the giant green one in the third picture. Of course, I would have had to raise the roof in the garage a couple of feet.

That thing is a monster made by Cincinnati. My guy said it's the oldest but probably the best at what it does. The open area below it is just filled with oil.
