Has anyone used roll on deodorant bottles as housings for lights?

    Hey all,

As the title suggests I'm wondering if anyone has used roll-on deodorant bottles as holders for MR-11 bulbs and how they stand up to the heat of a dichroic bulb set up.
The reason being I'm thinking of using a MR-11 6v, 10w bulb and have noted that people have used the bottles before as housing, but can't find info on the lifespan of the housing, bearing in mind I want to use the set-up on a 1 hour commute, on unlit roads.

    Cheers guys!

No experience with them but I'm guessing at least it would smell nice as it melted.

There was a bloke in NZ selling LED drop-ins using roll on bottles. Looked nice (which is what matters when you're selling online) but perhaps not so flash for heat dissipation.

I made some halogen housings from tennis balls and to test I just ran it in still air for 30min.
You probably want to flame test too if you're helmet mounting in case you get a short. Dripping burning plastic is not nice.
