    Easy 2 Cree red taillight.

Not quite the territory of Dinotte, but close enough. Two in parallel off a DX 3.6v-8.4v board with 5 modes.

Standard connectors that fit the ubiquitous Chinese lights.

Housing is 1 inch square alu tubes, with silicone caulking as sealants to make it weather proof.

I could've gone with momentary switch but decided against it as the driver board has memory mode, I leave it on flashing mode.

The clip in the back of the housing is salvaged from a cheapo planet bike blinkie, attached using a single screw and jb weld.

very neat - simple but effective! You probably could have wired the LEDs in series though, red LEDs tend to have a much lower Vf than white ones (red XP-Es at least), then it'd be even brighter

I tried that, it overheated very quickly, I thought about using heatsinks thermal pasted on but that just takes away from the simple clean look.

that makes sense, there's not a whole lot of surface area there! As long as it does what you want it to do, who cares?

Nice, any chance you can post a link for the board you used from DX?
