Dirt bike helmet light

So after perusing multiple motorcycle forums I have returned to MTBR for some advise. I'm looking to add one or two LED helmet lights to help me see into tight turns during midnight trail rides. My Trail Tech 8" HID headlight works great at any speed traveling forward.

My question is this..
Are there any small yet powerful bike lights that could be ran off my charging system? I have 55 watts and 14.2v of dc power available w/ the HID on.

I ride w/ my Magicshine MJ-862 in my pack as a backup in case I break down or the HID fails. I would be happy w/ 2 of them if I did not have to fuss w/ the battery and could ride all night if I didn't want to hurry home.

The other option would be building a couple of these

I was looking at making some lights for my mates motor cross bike and another mates quad, mainly to mount either side of their helmets.

I had settled on 2 x 3 XML lights running at about 2.8A each and using spot optics. This will give plenty of light but the main concern was the throw of the light at speed. Your HID will excel at that but not sure about the XML's. This is something I haven't trialled yet as I can't pedal my Mtb at 80kph
