    Darkstar CNC run

I am pleased to announce that due to demand from this board and many others I will be doing my first CNC run of the Darkstar in the coming month.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has ordered a light from me or helped me on this forum and would like to invite everyone else to check them out over at www.trailled.com.

Also inevitably I will be updating pricing for the fall, so you may want to consider ordering based on the current classified add.

I am sorry to say for you guys that I will not be offering these in a kit form as I am a quality control freak and just can't let that go yet.

I am assuming you are talking about the 4x and I am a little hurt by that Troutie, I have been making lights just as long as you have, and have gone to great lengths not to copy your designs. It is a bit of function over form I believe as Deestas lights look quite similar as well as Dinotte and the new NiteRider Pro 1200 and 600 lines.

I hope you were joking and making reference to that other bloke here in the states

Zen dont take owt said by me seriously as most of the forumites on here know by my stupid posts

My stuff would not be in the public domain if I wanted it to be private and I am happy if I have had a small influence on folks light building .

And as my post said ( flattered or annoyed ) I am very annoyed at the moment because
    of a crocked Knee .

Why is this topic in the DIY forum? Nothing DIY about it since it is about complete lights, even the battery is included.

I was flattered when Troutie's "minnow" was nearly identical to my 3 up XPE.
My lights always use available aluminum extrusions availabe.
They are designed so anyone with a table saw and drill can duplicate them.
Then I post step by step in the DIY Database.
You know you hit on a good package when the cnc guys are making similar lights.
I wish I could do that removable bottom like the minnow though. That would make building so much easier.

Zen's Darkstar and 500L are unique.
His 4x is a copy of my 3up.
I sent him optics and a 3up body to see if he could come up with something using XPEs.
So if his light looks like yours you can blame me.

    Oh yeah, By the way........

The only reason I was able to build the 3 up in the first place is because Zen was kind enough to give the the switch information on his Darkstar.
I could not find a switch small enough to use the 3/4 inch extrusion that I had sitting around.
So Zen it is your fault after all....................

Nope I hope not my knee is not that bad to be strapped yet .
but for a carpet and flooring fitter it is not ideal

Hey Odtexas I am not a cnc guy untill it needs making a few of then Deesta does that for me .
all the hard work is done on a 70 year old lathe and a manual mill bought with the profit from the first Troutlight.

I will know when I have hit on a good thing when the diy lights start getting a clear bottom like the Liberator of which I am on the 5th prototype 2 sold and 2 screwed up when nearly finished by careless machine work .

anyways guys keep up the inovating

Oh and by the way Zen your lights are too cheap for the quality

good job the Dollar to pound ratio is the wrong way round for them to sell over here
