    C-Far Bikelight DIY C-FAR 500

I have been looking at this forum for quite some time and have seen some really nice, and not so nice DIY bikelight that people have been making.

Since I am a designer by trade, I decided to try design and make my own set of DIY bike lights. I am very fortunate to have a set of CNC milling machines and CNC lathe in my workshop at home. so I would be able to make a few of them for other people if they have any interest.

over the past year or so, I have made about 3 different version, slight improvement on each one. I have decided to call it the C-FAR 500 because the configuration ive used brings the lumens close to 500lM, this might not seem like much but its more than plenty for what ive used it for. this can easily be changed with different LED and driver.

I have added some photos along with the post to show you my progress. i would appreciate any comment on my DIY bikelight. see what you think......

feel free to comment as any advise would be appreciated.

    thank you for looking

looks really good! Neat looking clamp too. What are the specs (LEDs, driver etc)? Any pics of the build process and other stuff inside the light? It's always interesting to see how different people do things.

    Nice, C-Far. Very nice!

I reckon you could easily crank out quite a few more lumens.... Like well over 1000 without over stressing the housing.

Of course, I'm a bit obsessed with making my designs far brighter than they need to be, so don't listen to closely to my comments.

    Very nice looking housing!
Is it light enough for the helmet (<100g)? How much room is there for the driver?

This is a very light bike light, and Very strong construction. the casing has been designed for a specific driver which i bought from deal extreme a while ago.

I have made a few copies of this bike light casing by the off chance that someone might be interested in making their own c-far bikelight. these have been anodised to many different colours, so if you are interested I could anodise it to a specific colour.

if anyone is interested, please PM me and ill get back to you.
