I'm not very familiar with batteries and had a question that I figured someone here could answer. I noticed that LiFePO4 packs are getting rather popular in dirt bikes/motorcycles and racing for their weight advantage. These packs are designed to be charged by a normal 13-14v charging system for what ever they're on.

Now, how are they designing them so this actually works well and charges the batteries correctly etc? I see some PCB that do overdrain/overdischarge/overcharge protection but is a vehicle charging system going to charge the cells properly?
