Would you guys recommend the Kona Stab Deluxe?

Im looking to get my first MTB and I want a DH bike.

I was just wondering if you guys with experience with them would recommend it.

Im a big guy, would I have to worry about the strength of the Stab Deluxe?

What are your thoughts on the bike?

How big a dude are you?
I bought the Stab, based on my fitment/reach within the cockpit.
I go 6'4" 229#. and my knuckles drag on the ground.

I tested/rode alot of bikes and concluded that the Stab was the best overall for my body size.
Saying that, I would have preferred to but the 2010 frame, versus the 2009. Kona shaved a few pounds of the '10 frame.

There are sweet deals to be had. Not trying to sway your decision, just make certain
you entertain all options available for a DH frame/bike purchase.

It will be strong enough to last. As a first mountain bike... you should at least make sure that you are able to navigate flat trails before trying any DH. YOU...WILL...DIE!!! At least in AZ that is.

The first thing to go on the stabs IMHO are the HUGE handlebars...they are ridiculous! When I demoed one at winter park I found it to not be a very nimble DH bike...meaning they are very difficult to muscle around. You just have to let the bike plow through, which I dont particularly like doing. I was constantly scared of clipping my handlebars, so I did one run and went and got a Garbonzo Stinky which I stuck with for the rest of the day and had alot more fun on. My favorite DH bike I rode out there was the Yeti 303.
If I want your opinion, I will give give it to you...
