Will the Hei-Hei ever see production again?

    I love my 03 explosif...but a Hei Hei would be a dream

I`d love to try one also. That would be so cool for them to come back but the price tag would be outrageous. I`ve seen the odd one come up on ebay.

I would love for the steel rigid Hahanna to come back. I hate myself for getting rid of that bike.

    i'll never say never, but...

... i just don't see the hei hei happening again. but you never know, i guess. weirder things have happened!

...but i'd like to see it happen to. from a ride quality standpoint ti bikes rule, and a ti bike with kona geometry would be super sweet.

    cheers,
    mg

This is my Hei Hei. Boy, I wish I could find a near NOS( NOS would be very tough) 1991-1993 18" frameset! The one in the pic is a 17" 1994 with 1993 decals.

That`s a real Beaut! Have you considered ditching the P2 for a Ti fork? You`ll loose half a pound for sure. Keep it all Ti. And how `bout some purple old stock Kooka chain rings to top it off?

I think it has a Ti P2 fork on it now.

Shiggy, good eyes. Yep, it already has the original Kona titanium package (stem, handlebars, post, fork and even the bar ends). And I prefer to use gears (sorry!) for the trails around here so no singlespeeding this one.

The purple brakes are Dia Compe 987s, but I prefer the performance of the old Shimano XTRs and would probably change that when I find a nice set. Levers are the old purple Avid Ultimates.

    Good riding all!

Wow - a Ti project 2! How much does it weigh?
Is that a 1" or 1-1/8" steerer on that fork? I`d love to get my hands on one of those.

The weld at the dropout is a dead giveaway. Besides, there is no way paint is going to match the Ti frame color that perfectly.

I have always thought it strange to convert the "old" geary frame to SS. Keep the gearie a gearie and get a NEW SS specific frame!

fireboy - yep, indeed tioga psychos in amber

top_ring, the 1993 catalog lists them as 685 grams (or somewhere there) but i have not weighed them myself. 1 1/8" and threaded only. goodluck hunting for them. :-)

    cheers shiggy.

    good riding all!
