Where to get 16" Hoss Dee-Lux frame?

Long story short......My 18" Dee-Lux is just a little to big for me and I want to get a 16" frame to swap my parts onto.

Went to the LBS and they want $300 just for the frame!?!?!?!?

Kona's web site shows them priced at $209!

Is there an on line dealer I could purchase from?

    Thanks
    Gordi

Try Ozone Bikes 512-302-1164. They usually can get good prices on frames from Kona. They've been a dealer for about 10 years or so.

    Great guys at Ozone.

Sent them off an E-Mail and they got right back to me, unfortunately I am being told Kona is out of the frames for the year.....SH!T.

Can anyone reccomend a frame from Kona for a 250Lb Cyde that will stand up to abuse and I could swap my parts onto?

    Thanks

If your willing to drop the dunkets, check into a Cowan frame. I weigh 245 and I would never consider anything else.Except for the Stinky D i am building. While it is considered a dirt jumping frame. It climbs pretty good, is prettty responsive and forgiving.I am sure with the right build you can bring it in at about 30 pounds. My is 38 beacuse i do a little of everything. Check out the picture.

    Beautiful bike!!!!!

What about a Roast frame? There is one on E-Bay for sale...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

The Roast is also a dirt jumping frame. I am not worried about the climbing as I live in South Florida where there is not many hills!

As far as dropping the dunkets..... I got my Hoss Dee-Lux for $0.....So I don't mind dropping some....

    Thanks

That is good frame, the only difference between that and mine. Is that i have adjustable dropouts and i have the Gyro Mount on the head tube. How tall are you? That is a 15.5 inch frame and while it is a smaller frame, you are going to have a slightly longer top tube and less stand over. If you can get the roast frame for the opening bid go for it. Otherwise get the 05 cowan frame. One more thing with the cowan you get a singlespeed dropout also. If you have anymore questions, go ahead and ask.

I am 5' 8" with a 30" inseam and have only about .5" of standover with my current frame.

Will the Roast have a longer top tube than my 18" Hoss? If so, it may be too long.

I also ride mostly XC and Singletrack......how will the DJ frame be for this?

    Thanks

After checking the Kona site I don't think it will work. The standover height is .8" higher and the top tube is .3" longer.

Guess I am kinda stuck at this point. I will have to wait for the 06's to get a 16" frame.

    Thanks
