Where did you ride your Kona today??

This may be buried in the 11 pages under Kona so if it is I apologize. A good buddy of mine got an Airborne and they have a thread by this name and I thought it was a cool thread to look through when I'm not riding and drinking a cold beer. It's getting warm out and it's time to show off our stomping grounds and our rigs that we put so much love a $$ into!!

Not sure what the exact name of this trail is as it is not part of the larger trail system at brushy creek in cedar park tx but my buddies and I call it six flags as there are a couple drops that given enough speed remind you of a roller coaster.

A couple of loops out of Winoga in Bend ... Funner, Twinks, Dinah Moe Hum, Storm King, Tyler's -- rinse, repeat ... amazing how fast it's gotten loose up there already this season.
Are you really sure about that?

I started that thread over in the Airborne forum and also have a Kona so I guess I better post here too. This is from yesterday and I originally posted it in the Airborne thread...

Decided it was time to test out a new rear tire and my shoulder (and my lungs since I've been battling bronchitis for a few weeks now, finally on antibiotics,) but either my season old tube or tire mounting skills denied me a ride on my Airborne

So I rode my backup/hooligan bike on the local canal trails

Don't worry though, I represent Airborne everywhere I go

I rode on some single track I've been riding on for 20 years

And hung out with some wild flowers

Pretty nice day to ride, and my shoulder held up just fine. Another week and I'll be on trail...

Very cool thread over on the Airborne page....I'm thinking your Kona was just ready for some time in the sun and took the Airborne out of commission!! Very cool pics, post some trail pics when you take her out again!!!

Sabotage is entirely possible. I just built the Explosif up this year and my first time on my favorite trail system ended up with some nasty cuts and a giant bruise on my leg so it might have wanted to redeem itself.

Really this is my second Kona. I've had a Honky Tonk for 4 years now. Next time I take out the Explosif though you bet I'll post photos here. Love these kinds of threads and they remind me to stop every once in a while and take photos of my adventures.

Here's my Honky on some single track last October.

My wife pokes fun of me for "posing" my bike but they are cool reminders of where I get to go play after those tough days at the office.

I did a little bit of around town riding on my Honzo since I ,too, smashed my shoulder last weekend. Nothing like hitting a jump and having your front tire blow a bead when you land just yards away from the access road.

    To a lake.

Requisite hipster road bike weird angle showing off my Brooks photo.

I did hit some super techy and very dangerous doubletrack. (Sarcasm)

And finally reached the lake. Half way point in a 30 mile out and back.

Waited til 940 am to take a spin I've done before,, just neighborhood routes to a local McD's at the bottom of a hill but a good workout for my (lack of) fitness level coming back up the hill. I went two different routes going and the return so one shows 378 elevation diff and the other is 450. For me this a good stride over a short 2.5 miles. I'm not much on the hills yet.
It was mid 80's and I'd have been smart to hit it at 70 degrees when I got home from work at 7am.

5.86 miles on the gps and that claims I hit 40 mph at one point. Glad I didn't know it at the time.
In the Middle Ages, the biggest mistake was not putting on your armor because you were 'just going down to the corner.'

Hit up Lake Georgetown yesterday. Rough trail with lots of what I call devil rock. Can't believe I didn't split a tire.
