Upgrade my Dawg 2009 is that worth it?

I'have a dilemma to buy a new bike or upgrade my Dawg 2009? I would change fork/ break and transmission i've got already xt break and a big part of the transmission.
Is there a big difference in term of performance between a bike like the Dawg and the new kona bike 2014.

Which newer models are you considering?
They'll all ride like bikes obviously, but if you describe your kind of riding we might be able to steer you towards a model that would suit your needs.

As for upgrading an older bike, it's my opinion that it should only be done if the parts can stay with you if you ever change the frame out.

OK i'm back i could buy an process 111 or upgrade my kona dawg 2009 with sram 1X11 drive train, new xt break and new revelation fork 140mm with axle 15.
My use is AM, single track with a lot of low speed technique section.
Is there a lot of difference between the ride of this two bike ? the kona dawg is still a good bike or is completetly obsolete vs the new bike
    Thnak you for your answer

If you plan on keeping the dawg for 3 or more years I'd say it would be worth upgrading some parts.

Make sure you set aside $100 or so for a ks eten seatpost in your update/upgrade budget. If you did it right, you could prob make some nice changes for under $500 as opposed to $3k+ for a new bike.

I would do a new fork in the 27.5 variety for possible use on a future bike, 1x10s drivetrain, brakes, and a dropper seatpost. If needed, a shock service may be money well spent as well.
