    Travel on Kikapu Deluxe '04

Considering the purchase of an '04 kikapu deluxe but a bit confused. I believe kona advertises 100mm of rear travel. According to my calculations, that comes out to something along the lines of 3.91 inches of travel.
Then I hear people say to "wait for the 2005 model because it will have 4 inches of travel".

What gives here? I'm confused, are people really that excited for an extra .09 inches of travel on the rear? Or am I calculating something wrong here? hmmm......

    Thanks for any input..

    Evan

Kona never said it was 4 inches, they said it was 3.5 which it is. How did you get 3.9 anyway?

    The '04 is 3.5".
    The '05 is 4".
Both as stated on their web site
    100 mm = 3.937"

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common

Ok so there in lies my confusion. If the '04 is 100mm travel and 100mm is equal to 3.93", then why are they saying the '04 is only 3.5"?

Seems to me if the '04 and the '05 are BOTH 100mm travel (as advertised), then they should both have the same amount of travel.

    Am I missing something here?

    Thanks
    Evan

You are missing that Kona states the '04 has 3.5" of travel. Not 4". Not 100 mm.

No one has ever said it is a 100 mm frame except you.
