    Raijin incoming!

Just scored an 18" frame on fleabay. A few years ago I had a 26" Unit that I really regret selling. I plan on making this an upgraded version of that to use as my 'one bike'.

It'll start SS for the winter, then I'll gear it for longer summer riding. I know this thread is worthless without pics so here is the frame. I'll do another when it's built.

I take it you were looking at that one too? I originally had it on my watch list cause I was just interested in the frame. As tends to happen that ended up being a "Well, it is a good deal and I have been wanting a Ti hardtail...."

Got one on the way here too. 20" frame and plan to build it up as a longer front travel SS. Likely either a Fox 130 or a Pike reduced to 120. Pics when I get it, likely this week.

I see a lot of people going with longer forks on the Raijin. I'm gonna use a 100 G2 fork and see if that doesn't recreated that quick steering the Unit had without making it too twitchy.

Curious as to what BB and cranks you're going to use? The BB thing in the last 5 years has been dizzying. I've gone from a threaded BB on my unit to GPX on a diSSent to BB95 on a Superfly and now PF30. Literally every new frame I have to go with new cranks and BB, can we get a standard and just stick with it for a while?

I'm planning to use a Praxis converter to run Shimano 24mm cranks.

I've had PF30 on a mountain bike before without problems. My CX bike has one and no complaints.

The only cranks I have sitting around are some old truvativ GPX and some '09 saint SS, neither of which would probably be ideal. I guess I better nut up and buy some PF30/BB30 lighty light cranks and just stop buying new frames so much.

    from Konas warranty:

"Kona further warrants to the original owner that the frame of this new Kona bicycle purchased from an authorized Kona dealer shall be free of defective materials or workmanship for the lifetime of ownership by the original owner"

Does Ebay count as an authorized dealer?

not trying to give you a hard time, just curious in case i come across an ebay for myself.

Sure, if it's a LBS that's an authorized Kona dealer and it's a brand new frame.
