    Kona 142 Rear Axles

Does any one have any justifications as to why some frames use Maxles, and others use Shimano E-Thru standard. Seems like it'd be easier to run one version across the board.

D@mn, dude, I'm digging that Explosif. Decided to go old school hardtail after so much time on the dual-squish?

Wife and kids heading to Acadia this year? We are going in two weeks with our soon-to-be-1-year-old.

Sorry for the thread-jack....I don't know why Kona would use two competing standards on their frames. I'm hoping to pick up a Process frame this winter to build up as my Dawg's replacement. All they list is 12x142 on frames that have the rear axle upgrade, but not which standard.

Yes. Acadia for a the week of July.

And I believe that the Process has the Shimano standard based on the pics hat I've seen.

Sweet, well I hope the weather pattern dries out here in the NE...

Yeah, looks like an E-thru axle on the Process. Does the Explosif use E-thru also? Liking the 650B?

Maxle - same dropouts as on the Honzo.
