im breaking a lot of derailler pulleys on my stinky, any ideas

my 02 stinky primo seems to be eating lower rear derailleur pulleys at an alarming rate. ive only really ridden it a few times this season, and ive already killed 2 of them. (shimano lx rear mech) about the only thing i can think of is on my jump landings the mech is flexing upwards and smacking the chainstay, but that doesnt seem to make a ton of sense to me. does anyone else have this problem/know how to fix it?
