, (and the way the bike corners and so) you´ll probably void the warranty. As far as I know I can´t go with a longer than 80mm on my explosif.

Go for it! I have a 2004 Kikapu with a Vanilla 130 on it, I like it alot. It's really slack for an XC biek but whatever, I live in FL climbing isn't one of my main concerns. And it will not void the warranty. You just can't put a DC fork on it, duh. I guess a 66 or a sherman wouldn't be a good idea either but that's common sense.

    I don't see why not

Contact Kona first but I've run a 100mm fork on my Kahuna and on my '04 Kikapu. In fact the geometries of the '04 kikapu's really look the same as an '03 just with a longer 100mm fork on it.

    Good luck.

    Marz Fork Travel Conversion

Let us know about changing the travel from 105 to 85. B/c I had a '03 MX Pro 85mm and wanted to change it to 105mm. It would have involved changing the cartridges and wasn't worth the cost.

Hope you can do it easily because I like Kikapu much better with 100mm up front.

if so, then later this year i may start looking for a new fork, this was just an idea i had always wondered about.

    Yeah it is.

Mine is a MX Pro Air/Air. My LBS quoted something like $100-$130 for the cartridge (I guess Travel Kit) and I thought it wasn't worth it.

    Mabye they were wrong.

If you get a price let us know. I'd might still be interested in changing the travel if it's not too pricey.

that doesn't seem like a horrible price because a new fork of similar quality would be at least 300.00
maybe i will call and check tomorrow and see what they say for price.

I'd save that money and buy a used or new 2004 model Fox or Marathon.
