Which HT frame? stuff, cowan, or 5-0?

Hey guys, heres my situation. I currently have a 04 Trek Liquid. My riding style has changed a bit and I'd have more fun on an aggressive hardtail for riding trails and ripping some dirt jumps. I'd like to do this as cheaply as possible so I'd like to switch my components from the Trek to a new frame if I can. The frames I'm leaning towards are an 03 kona stuff, 08 Kona Cowan, or an 09 Kona 5-0. The price is $200 for each.

My question is which one of these frames do you think will fit that riding style the best and which one would accept most of my components from the Trek. My fork has 5" of travel and the steerer tube should be plenty long enough. What components do you think I will have trouble switching over?

    Thanks a lot, Matt.

    Personally, I'd pick the five-o.
I'd suggest you do a search on your Trek for frame specs, then compare those to the KONA's and see which items are interchangable....

Ok, thanks. Is it a little more traily than the other two?

Yeah I've done that, I just don't know enough about bike parts to know which ones are going to give me trouble even if they look like they'll fit according to spec.

I guess the answer I was looking for was any generalized tips on what to watch out for when changing parts.

    Got it.

As I recall, the five-o has a pedal friendly head tube angle, but you can confirm all the specs for Kona's, just to be certain.

I'd look at the head tube length on your TREK, and compare it to the KONA's. Why, if you have cut down your steer tube on the existing fork, it may or may not fit/work/mount up on the new bike.

    Bottom bracket size.
