How much abuse can a Unit take?

    Hey guys,
Thanks to NicoleB, I recently came into possession of a size small 26" Kona Unit. I built it up myself and used none of the stock parts, so this is really just a question about the durability of frame. I want to take another trip to Ray's indoor MTB Park, and would rather not rent a DJ bike this time, so i'm thinking about bringing the unit. I'm really just wondering if the frame can handle the stresses of jumping and if anybody has been able to break or compromise one yet. I want this thing to last a long time, and although I only weigh in at 180 lbs I have a history of snapping frames.
    Whadaya think?

Because i'm comfortable on the bike, it travels well on the rack and you don't need gears at Ray's. I'm just trying to get a consensus on how tough the frame is overall.

I have the Explosif which is more or less the geared version of the Unit. I've ridden mine at the local indoor bike park and taken it on DH bike park days. You should be fine as long as you don't case the front wheel or stuff it nose first into the ground when dropping into or off of something. Also try not to slam the frame into the edges of the ramps or jumps when you mess up or have to bail.

But I do have to say that your history of breaking frames makes me want to put a giant "your results may vary" warning on this post.

I wouldn't call my unit small but I've beat the hell out of it over the years... still works!

I will probably leave it home and bring a beefier bike. It just rides really nice and i'm interested in where it's limitations are. thank you all for your input.

Fork dropout? That's interesting. Care to elaborate?

I don't know if I would feel comfortable jumping anything on my unit. Keep in mind I'm only speculating, if you're going to do ride the tamer stuff you're probably ok, but if you case any jumps or twist a landing you're taking chances, it wasn't designed for that.
