    Click/clunk in Dawg rear linkage

I have a 2005 dawg deeluxe and have recently noticed a small bit of play where the rocker link meets the seatstays. Is this normal and I just never noticed it? Or is there a bushing in there that might need to be replaced? It's vertical only, no side to side.

    Thanks!

    Top shock bolt and sleeves.

More than likely it will be the sleeves or the top shock bolt area.

It's definitely at the back of the rocker, I can feel it move. If there's bushings back there they could definitely be worn.

    Thanks

I'm surprised no one has definitively replied.

No, the play is not normal. Your frame has some miles on it, and it might be due for a bearing kit. I believe those bearings are toast if you have perceptable radial play at those bearings. I replaced all the bearings in my 2003 dawg about a year ago and it rides like buttah. I remember one or two bearings being a challenge to get out, but I believe I just fabricated a bearing pull out of a large socket and a long screw/nut/washers.

    Good luck,
    -Damon

Thanks Damon! I've never done the bearings so I figure it's time.

My LBS (boston, bikes, mtb, mountain bikes, road bikes, bmx, kids, cyclocross, bicycles) rocks and was able to hook me up with just the top bushings. Easy job and no more clink.
