    V-Tach~taco or bash?

I have a bead on some Saint cranks. The problem is from all the interneting I've done they are not compatible with any single ring chain guides that mount a bash guard to the cranks like an E13 SRS (has to do with the wider chain ring mounting tabs). That leaves me with a taco style bash guard. I dont have any experience with this style of guard and how it handles impacts. Anyone out there have any opinions or suggestions?

If I were to damage the frame or the ISCG tabs it's not like I can run down to my LBS an pick up another frame.
If I dropped you off in the forest with a hatchet, how long before you could send me an email?

I believe you can use the stock, bash ring and then just the guide. I think the Straitline silent guide looks sweet. But you can probably use any guide from e13, MRP, gamut etc. They are all pretty adjustable.
