    Mounting front derailuer on chilcontin

Trying to mount the shimano fd on the chilcontin and the outer chain guide is rubbing against the big ring. No way it will work the way i am attaching it. I am putting on a xo 2x10 crank and it is the correct derailuer per knolly's recommendation.

    Thanks,

    Patrick

By "chain guide" do you mean the cage of the derailleur? What size outer ring are you using, and what model front derailleur?

Yes I guess I mean the derailuer cage. It is the shimano fd-m785-e2. The one per knolly's recommendation. The outer ring is a 42t.

m785 is 2x10 with max 12t capacity and max 38/40 ring. you need another crank option for this fd.

    first result in google Product

or you can run a sram fd with your sram crank: SRAM X0 2 x 10 Low Direct Mount-S1 Front Derailleur | Backcountry.com

Thanks. I was afraid of that. But getting a new derailuer is easier than a new crank.
