    Fork: Overhaul or Swap

I have an '09 Marz 66 ex-ATA RC3 fork. The knob and stem have broken off for my compression catridge so I no longer have the ability to adjust....and it feels terrible. I am tossing around the idea of either getting an Avalanche cartridge installed or swapping to a 180mm Float or Talas. Thoughts?

Bike is a 2010 Delirium (large) that I use for all my riding. Vancouver Island trail riding with a handful of park days every year.

Get the Avy cartridge. Seems like a win/win to me. Better fork and less expensive.

Hahaha, that should be your new signature. I love it.

I hate to bring this party down, but with a fork that is 4 years old and ridden hard I would be hesitant to spend that kind of money on it.
The Avy may be fantastic for a year but if the crown - steerer interface goes then you have nothing.

All parts have a life span.

    Just my 2 cents.

Excellent point. My Lyrik is 3+ years old, and I am a maintenance freak, and I would not hesitate to put it on a new bike. I gave my 08 Lyrik to a buddy who has been bashing the hell out of it after I was done with it. But to your point, I would consider the condition and maintenance of the fork before spending any money on it.

Guess you have to use your own judgement. I bought a used '05 888 in '08, and am still riding it hard today on my V-tach. 8 year old fork, going strong.

But it was in great condition when I bought it, and I have maintained it well with regular oil changes, and new seals a couple times.

None that I'm aware of. Feels nice and tight, no slop.
