Endorphin 142*12 rear axle, and turbo trainer.

    Hi!
New Knolly owner from Sweden. Just got my bike build up and managed to get a couple of rides on it before the snow covered the trails.

I know it's a shame :-) but i'm trying to fit the bike to a turbo trainer, but have no luck finding a rear axle that fit the bike and in a turbo trainer.

Anyone using the bike in a turbo trainer during the winter months and have a solution?.

    Regards/Jonas

    Hi!
After a couple of axles ordered i found a axle that matches the thread on the Endorphin, Kinetics traxle with medium thread.

I have a concern since most of the force of the wheel normally are transmitted to the frame via the cutouts for the hub. And in a trainer the rider weight is transmitted to the frame via the axle/axle ends only. The material where the thin part of the axle meets the frame are relatively thin, and the axle for the trainer are not countersunk in the frame, is this going to damage the frame?
    Any thoughts ?

if you tighten all the axle bolts really tight so there is no play possible, I cant see how you would squash the alu billet (its not as if youll be 'hucking to flat' on it )...if there was play, then I can see how the frame may get damaged...if you choose to do it, keep an eye on it...

Bike a crappy used bike off internets for a trainer instead of wearing on your nice Endo. For the money you'll spend on another tire and an axle you could buy a cheap clunker for trainer duty.
