    Delirium Main pivot bearing removal.

    Hello,

After getting sick of the creaking, I decided to strip down my Delirium and give her a little love. I was able to remove all of the other linkage bearings (using a Transition's bearing tools), but I'm at a loss on how to remove the main pivot bearings.

If anyone else has done it, please chime in. Thanks

Ive done it on my wife's endo. I tapped them out from the backside using a socket extension. There was enough of a lip that I could catch it with the blunt edge. Just work your way around slowly and tap gently and they should pop out!
On an additional note, you can source bearings from Enduro rather than the Knolly ones. Save yourself a bundle in the process. Those main pivot bearings are double row caged ball bearings, so tough to clean and re-assemble. I managed to clean them up nicely, but they were still too rough when I pressed them back in.
The Enduro bearings are ~$16/ea. The Knolly specc'ed ones are anywhere from $40-$90/ea depending on where you get them (if you can get them). I think the Deli needs 4 (or is it 6?) of them, so it adds up quickly!

    Delirium Main pivot bearing removal.

Bearing puller is ur best option. I bought one a few years ago as well as bearing installer, should have done it years ago. No worries of frame screw ups and with the correct tools it is super easy to perform. One downside all your buddies will bug you for it or ask you to do it.

Squirt a little telfon lube on both sides of the sleeve and then let it sit for a while. Then re-install the bolt about half-way or get a longer bolt and tap the bolt with a plastic/rubber mallet.

Basically, the bearing corrodes a bit to the sleeve. When I re-install the sleeve, I apply a very, thin layer of grease to avoid this.

Bionicman, do you by any chance know what puller you've used?

Bearing Pullers, Flywheel Pullers and Puller Tools

I was looking through those, but I'm at a loss on which one to purchase?
